I’m running for Mayor because I believe it’s time to step in and help make the City of North Vancouver work better for the people who live, work and raise families here. My interest in public policy and local government goes back decades. I ran for election in 1996, served as Policy Director for the Progressive Democratic Alliance, represented the party on Elections BC’s Election Advisory Committee, and hold an SFU degree in Human and Economic Geography and Business Administration. Today, two issues stand out: transportation and housing. North Shore traffic has become a daily constraint on residents, families and businesses. The City and District need to work more closely together on transportation, infrastructure and shared services, with practical solutions that make it easier to get around. We also need housing that gives families room to stay, grow and build a life here. Planning should begin with the needs of people who already call North Vancouver home, while preparing responsibly for the future.
