Today, two issues stand out: transportation and housing. North Shore traffic has become a daily constraint on residents, families and businesses. The City and District need to work more closely together on transportation, infrastructure and shared services, with practical solutions that make it easier to get around.

It means working collaboratively with other levels of government to improve transportation, and to make childcare and essential services more affordable and accessible.

On pay parking, I listened to residents and businesses and advocated for 30-minute free curbside parking and 3-hour free parking at Harry Jerome.

My second-term priorities are public input, traffic flow, transit, affordable housing, protections for displaced tenants, more trees and parks, business vitality, and stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

I am concerned about the high rate of development, increasing traffic congestion, lack of parking and challenges with new paid parking bylaw regulations. Safe streets, paths and sidewalks, conflicts between cars, pedestrians, cyclists and electric scooters.

Parking & Mobility: Proposes ending paid parking at 6:00 PM, expanding accessible parking, reviewing the 2022 Mobility Plan, and advocating for senior government help with bridge bottlenecks.

This must change quickly if we want to address the challenges of supporting an ageing population, reducing commuter traffic, improving affordability, and maintaining our cohesive community character.

Tony is an advocate for responsible growth, community engagement, vibrant public spaces, transportation choice and long-term planning.

If elected, Anna will champion attainable housing; match growth with infrastructure and services; improve transportation safety and connectivity for everyone; support families and local businesses; and advance climate resilience.

From housing and rental prices so unaffordable to buy, let alone rent for many young families and working adults who wish to live on the North Shore, our constant traffic woes which forces many, for those that can’t live on the North Shore to decide if the cost of travel is enough for the benefit of the work, to the rise of the crushing cost of living on the North Shore.

Jessica remains dedicated to serving the North Vancouver community and working to find collaborative solutions to building a City that is climate resilient, provides sustainable and effective transportation options, and aims to be inclusive and equitable.

I will advocate for safer streets and better choices for walking, cycling and transit, while recognizing that many residents still depend on their cars.

My priorities are practical: predictable property taxes; housing for families, workers, and seniors that is supported by infrastructure while protecting neighbourhood character and green space; better coordination of road work and a united North Shore voice on transit; responsive municipal services; and stronger wildfire and emergency preparedness.

Move DNV: Fix bridge and arterial gridlock utilizing modern traffic synchronization and federal USNA framework backing.

As a councillor, Dan will work to ensure infrastructure and public facilities keep pace with growth, address transportation gridlock, and protect taxpayers amid rising budgetary pressures.

As a renter who commutes daily by transit across the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge, I understand firsthand the challenges many residents face, including traffic congestion, the impacts of growth and development, and the shortage of attainable housing.

I am particularly passionate about addressing affordable housing, homelessness, traffic congestion, and ensuring that the pace of development reflects the needs and priorities of the residents who live here.

I remain committed to responsible spending, protecting the environment, prioritizing transportation infrastructure, supporting small business, and reviewing our Official Community Plan.

I care about housing that allows people to put down roots, transportation that works for everyday life, strong neighbourhood connections, responsible growth, environmental stewardship, and preparing our community for climate and technological change.

GETTING AROUND: We live between the mountains, rivers and the sea, with only so many ways to get around. Gridlock will continue unless people have reliable alternatives. I’ll push for true bus rapid transit on the R2, extend the Spirit Trail where it is feasible, and advocate for the Ironworkers crossing before congestion gets even worse.

Fast and reliable public transportation. We can’t simply pave our way out of traffic congestion. Expanding the transit network with RapidBus and Bus Rapid Transit creates real alternatives to driving. I don’t own a car and primarily use transit to get around, so I know just how many neighbourhoods aren’t served well. Spaces for connection.

We must maintain and improve infrastructure, transportation and the services people rely on, while understanding long-term costs and demanding accountability for major projects.

If re-elected, Jim will commit to relentlessly pursuing transportation initiatives to relieve congestion, such as his idea to pave a third lane on the Cut eastbound between Lynn Valley Road and Mountain Highway, to separate North Vancouver residents from highway/bridge traffic. He will support investments in transit and active transportation.

HOUSING: Explore alternative housing options (Co-op, rent to own, repurposed buildings, home sharing for seniors & students, and purpose-built homes for public sector workers) – to better meet the needs of local people ECONOMY: Prioritize maintaining & growing commercial space so local residents can live and work here TRANSPORTATION: Urge changes to combat traffic gridlock & encourage active transportation COMMUNITY: Support additional childcare facilities so more families can find care close to home CLIMATE: Add wildfire mitigation measures to DNV climate emergency actions

If re-elected, my priorities include improving how we move around the North Shore through better transit, safer walking and cycling connections, and strong advocacy for replacement of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge.
