Fiscal Responsibility & Accountability: Focuses on smart budget optimization for core infrastructure. Fights unfair taxpayer liability for regional wastewater cost overruns, establishes a long-term strategy to mitigate tax hikes, and hosts bi-annual public accountability town halls.

I raised concerns about wastewater treatment plant costs and strongly supported calls for an independent public inquiry.

I opposed the Swim Deck project after concluding that its cost estimate was conceptual and not sufficiently detailed.

My second-term priorities are public input, traffic flow, transit, affordable housing, protections for displaced tenants, more trees and parks, business vitality, and stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

Finally, I fully support a truly independent public inquiry about Waste Water Treatment Plant costs, reducing future financial impact on our taxpayers and review of Metro Vancouver Regional District structure.

I will work to make major spending decisions transparent, carefully evaluated, and focused on services residents actually need.

We’re experiencing continued growth, and with it come real challenges—from keeping our neighbourhoods safe and managing tax dollars responsibly to making smart infrastructure decisions. I’ve worked to support responsible growth that protects what we value about our community, while ensuring we don’t place unnecessary burdens on residents.

In difficult times, we must stand united as Canadians: supporting local businesses, protecting household budgets, and treating every tax dollar with care.

The North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant is one example. Metro Vancouver’s estimate rose from about $700 million in 2013 to $3.86 billion in 2024. The plant is necessary, but residents deserve public reporting, independent oversight, and a fair allocation of costs. I will advocate for all three wherever the District has a seat at the table.

My priorities are practical: predictable property taxes; housing for families, workers, and seniors that is supported by infrastructure while protecting neighbourhood character and green space; better coordination of road work and a united North Shore voice on transit; responsive municipal services; and stronger wildfire and emergency preparedness.

THE CAREER POLITICIAN Incumbent Mike Little has failed DNV taxpayers with runaway spending and taxes through the roof.

He is fully dedicated to stopping financial waste and protecting taxpayers.

I believe the community returns me because I advocate first for the taxpayer, the community and the many businesses that have helped build this place.

I remain committed to responsible spending, protecting the environment, prioritizing transportation infrastructure, supporting small business, and reviewing our Official Community Plan.

I also want to advance financially responsible plans to renew aging community facilities, protect our parks, trails and natural environment, prepare for climate risks, and continue pushing for transparency and accountability at Metro Vancouver.

This experience has strengthened his commitment to transparency, sound financial oversight, and ensuring regional bodies remain accountable to the communities they serve.

As a councillor, Dan will work to ensure infrastructure and public facilities keep pace with growth, address transportation gridlock, and protect taxpayers amid rising budgetary pressures. He will advocate for a fair renegotiation of household levies connected to the Wastewater project, meaningful local control over density and zoning, attainable housing for young families, and decisions that protect the balance among people, nature, and community.
