I know a brighter future is possible. I know we can lift those who need a hand, grow in harmony with each other and with the land, and build a more resilient future together.

I’ve worked in the mental health and substance use sector for 17 years. I see first-hand how systems can change lives. When people have stable housing, food in the fridge, and neighbours that care, they also have hope. What does a brighter future look like?

Truly affordable housing. We’re relying on for-profit systems to solve problems created by profits. Governments have an obligation to collaborate and build non-profit and co-op housing. Building renters into the conversation. The number of renters in the District is growing, and many people (like me!) see renting as a long-term option rather than a temporary stopover. Renters need an advocate and they need to be part of decision-making. Fast and reliable public transportation. We can’t simply pave our way out of traffic congestion. Expanding the transit network with RapidBus and Bus Rapid Transit creates real alternatives to driving. I don’t own a car and primarily use transit to get around, so I know just how many neighbourhoods aren’t served well. Spaces for connection. Improving access to libraries, parks, recreation, sports, and cultural opportunities for everyone. Climate justice. Protecting our land, air, and water from a perspective of equity.

I’m proud to be endorsed by the Vancouver and District Labour Council and CUPE 389. I’m a union member and I continue to support the workers that keep our communities running.
