Jennifer Branston

For the past eight years, it has been my honour to serve as Chair of the North Vancouver School District Parent Advisory Council (NVPAC/DPAC). During that time, I have engaged, collaborated, and worked alongside students, families and staff, gaining a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges within our school district. Students, families and staff deserve to know their voices matter, to feel heard and respected, and to be supported as essential partners in both our school communities and within the broader public education sector.

My professional experience in operations and governance has taught me that good decisions begin with listening. I understand the important distinction between governance and operations. Good governance means asking thoughtful questions, considering different perspectives, making informed decisions and ensuring public resources are used responsibly. It also means building trust through transparency, respect and accountability.

In 2024, I was honoured to receive the George Matthews Award for Excellence in Parent Leadership from the British Columbia Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils (BCCPAC), recognizing my commitment to supporting students and families across the North Vancouver School District. I care deeply about our North Vancouver schools and the people who make them such an important and special part of our community. I will listen with intention, work collaboratively, and lead with integrity. I would be deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our schools and contributing to the community we share.
