Rob Haines

I have spent more than 23 years in public education, seeing firsthand the difference a great teacher and a strong school can make in the lives of students, families, and communities. I have worked as a secondary teacher, special education teacher, IB educator, and Vice Principal. I've taught in Ontario, Hong Kong, and British Columbia, giving me a broad perspective on education and the needs of students and school communities.

Throughout my career, I have supported students with diverse learning needs, worked to uphold high educational standards, and collaborated with families, educators, and support staff to build strong school communities. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities facing public education today.

I believe strong school leadership begins with listening, collaboration, and a clear focus on student success. I am committed to advocating for students, supporting educators and staff, and strengthening public education in North Vancouver. I am running because every student deserves the support and opportunity to succeed. I have seen classrooms become more complex, demands on teachers and educational assistants increase, and funding pressures place greater strain on schools. I believe we need to strengthen support without lowering expectations.

As a Trustee, I will bring my experience as an educator and school leader to advocate for students, support strong public schools, and help ensure the resources students and educators need reach our classrooms.
